Forgeries of the Papacy

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

… whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deception of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: that they all may be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. |

Truth is not optional for God's Church. It is integral to our faith and worship, both individually and collectively. In response to Thomas's query how we might know the way, Jesus told him, "I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life …" (John 14.6). And, in speaking of the Devil, Christ said, "… he was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own; for he is a liar, and the father of it" (John 8.44). Jesus calls the Holy Spirit "the Spirit of Truth" (John 14.17; 15.26; 16.13). In Jesus's prayer to the Father, before he went to be crucified, he prayed for his then nascent Church: "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth" (John 17.17). Paul in writing to Timothy, speaks of "…the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth…" (I Timothy 3.15). Many more similar passages of Scripture could be quoted in this regard; but these should suffice to establish the thought that the 'truth' is essential to our relationship with, and understanding of, God—and is not optional for the Church.
With that thought in mind, it is only fitting that we expect the ministers of God and the representatives of Christ to be men of honor and of truth. Under scrutiny, the Roman Papacy does not meet this standard. The entire structure, with the pope at its apex, is built upon fraud and deceit, along with pride and the self-exaltation of the Roman bishop. The multitude of papal forgeries used to establish and support the Papacy bears abundant witness to its untruthful nature. Deception was both the foundation and the framework of the structure. The frauds were accepted and believed for so long, and became so interwoven into the mindset of mankind that, even though they have long been exposed as frauds, the structure which was built upon them yet remains.
The links at left offer some of the evidence of the less than truthful character of the roots and essence of the Papacy.
